A Planned Military Community
Oromocto isn't like most New Brunswick towns — it grew up as a planned military community around CFB Gagetown, and that history still shapes the concrete work homeowners need today.
Many homes in the original Oromocto core were built between 1955 and 1969 as part of the town's CMHC-designed "Model Town" buildout. A lot of that original housing stock came without garages, and some without basements — practical for the era, but it means today's homeowners are regularly adding what their homes never had: garage pads, driveway extensions, and patio slabs. Newer construction in Oromocto West, meanwhile, needs fresh concrete work from the ground up.
